Basic Information[]
As their name implies, Agents of the Gods are beings that the Gods create to do their work on Agarest, usually to accomplish a specific task. While they look like regular humans, they are actually immortal beings with great magical power. Aside from their own powers, an Agent is usually also bestowed some of the power of the God that created them (or if not the God that created them, then the God that is currently commanding them). In a sense, like the Larva, one could consider them to be lesser Gods in a way. In fact, Dyshana was called "an echo of the God Chaos," referring to the fact that she was created as Chaos's other half and that she is not a true God but she is not human either. Despite their origins and nature, Agents of the Gods can experience hunger and fatigue just like any mortal and can even get injured or killed (though apparently, they cannot be killed easily, much like Spirit Vessels).
Because they are conjured beings, their initial personalities are blank, manifesting in an apparent ruthlessness toward achieving their goals, and lack of visible sentiment towards people of lower station. The exact degrees of this vary by their creators; Dyshana reflects Chaos' calm rationality and understanding of mortal hearts and desires; Mimel has Deeth's playful and whimsical nature, while Mila possesses her disregard of life; Eva carries Mobius' disdain for lesser beings. This cold exterior is only temporary, however, as they do gradually develop their own observations and conclusions, imparting onto them the same kind of identity that a growing child develops from their peers. In the cases of Dyshana and Eva, their attitudes and hearts are shaped, over time, by the actions of their Spirit Vessels, whose acts of benevolence and the camaraderie of their peers gives them a basis for understanding and forming genuine social bonds. Conversely, Mimel, granted only the superficial vestiges of a 'heart', initially shows the emotional development of a child, leading to the creation of an alternate persona in the form of Mila. It is only through her time in the company of the protagonists, that she eventually reconciles the schism between her personalities.
As another interesting piece of information, it should be noted that in each Agarest story, the Agent has some sort of connection to Chaos, whether it is that they were created by Chaos or they were created for Chaos. As mentioned before, in Agarest 1, Dyshana was created by Chaos as his other half, representing "the last spark of light within his existence." In Agarest Zero, Mimel (together with Mila as Mimelia), was created by Deeth and given to Chaos as a present to fill the void in his heart for losing Varna. In Agarest 2, the situation was the same, with Eva also being created by Deeth and given to Chaos as a present to fill the void in his heart for losing Varna. In the case of both Mimel and Eva, they were cared for by Chaos as if they were his daughters but were ultimately rejected by him because he did not like how Deeth simply played around with life (treating Mimel and Eva like dolls instead of real people). Following this, they ended up in the hands of Mobius who merely used them as tools to fulfill his own agenda. Considering how both Deeth and Mobius treated them, it is clearly obvious why both Mimel (and Mila) and Eva do not care for Deeth or Mobius, but express great love, loyalty, and appreciation towards Chaos because he was the only God that actually cared about their wellbeing.
