	There are two of them for your first encounter. Attack them 3-on-1. That way you'll damage them both and can focus your attacks more. Note: The two at Ginnunga Canyon are impossible to catch. They are pretty vulnerable to sleep, if you have a mage with wind magic you can perma sleep them, and deal with them pretty easy.
