Age: 18 Height: 176cm (5'9) A hero of the second generation, Leonis is proud of the accomplishments of his parents in the name of peace and enthusiastically followed in their footsteps. Because he was promoted to the position of commander at such a young age, he can't stop wondering if his promotion was due to his skills or if he was simply put in charge because of his father's past successes. His philosophy of living life to its fullest comes from the influence of those around him as well as the loss of his parents at an early age. Leonis and well-behaved and mature beyond his years as a result of being raised with a certain amount of discipline. However, as he is so self-sufficient, this rather large pool of parental figures suffer from crushing boredom, as they would like nothing better than to coddle him into insensibility. Leonis' ultimate goal in life is to bring about peace in the world, although he is unsure of what his role would be in a world without war. | ||||||
Appearance[]
Thanks to his father's achievements, Leonis is privileged enough to wear a royal suit which is both elegant and practical. He will always have short hair, much like his father.
Friedelinde[]
If Friedelinde is his mother, then Leonis will strangely inherit most of his appearance from his father. He inherits his father's hair and eye colors and wears a white and black suit, black shoes, white gloves and a red scarf.
Sayane[]
Dark blue eyes, raven hair, dark blue and white suit, white shoes, Dark blue gloves and an orange scarf.
Routier[]
Light blue eyes, blonde hair, white and light blue suit, blue shoes, white gloves and a red scarf.
Personality[]
Leonis is noble and mature beyond his years, mostly as a result of Alice's teachings. He believes that those who were forcefully corrupted by darkness can be saved which is why he is reluctant to kill Vastor and Arzest, but doesn't hold the same view for those who willingly allowed themselves to fall prey to it, like Giganda and Summerill.
Unlike Sieghart or most of the Agarest protagonists , Leonis' destiny wasn't gave or forced upon him by a outside force, but rather determined by himself, as he chose to honor his parents' legacy and protect the world from darkness.
History[]
Initially raised by his parents to the best of their abilities, both Sieghart and the three maidens of the pillar sacrificed themselves to free Hass Calinou from his prison. He was then raised by Sieghart's companions and educated by Alice and spent much of his childhood with Niel and Mimel. Due to both his father's rank and achievements and Leonis' own skill in fighting and leading, he was quickly promoted to the rank of commander and successfully led his forces to numerous victories, defeating every assault attempted by the forces of darkness. When the darkness partially corrupted Vashtor, Leonis was reluctant to kill his former comrade but was nevertheless defeated by the high gurg. Tasked by Eleazal to save Hass Calinou and obtain his remaining artifact, he was tasked by the latter to escape with Werdefahrt. When Mimel's attempt to give Werdefahrt to the forcess of darkness to save Leonis and his friends, he was able to use his link with her to find her. After the truth about Mimelia is revealed, Leonis resolved to follow Mila and stop her. On his way he encounters and defeats Giganda, as well as end Arzest's torment. However, he refused to kill Vashtor. Together with his companions, he is able to defeat Mila.
NORMAL ENDING SPOILERS
After defeating Mila, the power contained within her became unstable. Leonis and Mimel sacrifice themselves to prevent a cataclysm. Afterwards Leonis and Mimel are reunited with Sieghart and the maidens of the pillar, who say that they will watch over the world together and that Leonis shouldn't blame himself for the events that happened.
TRUE ENDING SPOILERS
After defeating Mila, the power contained within her became unstable. Leonis and Mimel are able to prevent a cataclysm by sealing Mila to the Boundary Plane with Werdefahrt but are then confronted by Summeril. After a long battle they defeat Summeril, but he instantly recovers. Mila agrees to restore the power to Werdefahrt to seal Summeril to the Boundary Plane. Afterwards Leonis marries one of the heroines. Hearing from an oracle about a source of magical power inside the Scarred Mountains, Leonis and Mimel find a portal which allows them to travel to the Boundary Plane, as well as allow Sieghart and the maidens of the pillar to return to the normal world.
Equipment[]
Sieghart's Sword: Inherited from his father, Leonis may wield this sword in conjunction with his other one if he's able to.
The Oathsworn (誓いの封剣, Chikai no Fūken lit. Sealed Sword of the Oath): Also known as -Werdefahrt-, and later as the -Oathsworn-, this sword was one of the three artifacts forged by Hass Calinou, and is somewhat inspired by Sieghart's sword in design. Having enough power to seal away gurgs and even gods, and impressively later on as time passes, has the ability to destroy them utterly, this weapon's power is stolen by Mila but is restored in the True End.
Powers and Abilities[]
Unlike other characters who were soul-bred, Leonis' powers and abilities are partially determined by Sieghart's decisions too. He learned various attack techniques from his father's companions, especially Eugene and Alice, and is able to call upon the powers of light in battle and even turn his own soul into a weapon. Like his Father, Leonis and Mimel are able to feel each other's presence.
