Weiss is a young man who was given the responsibility of being the Spirit Vessel after committing the sin of killing a god. His life was saved by Aina, who found him unconscious and gravely injured. However, while his body was healed, his memory was all but destroyed, with only the knowledge of his name remaining. Everything else, including how he got the sword was in his hand when he was found and how he got hurt, was completely erased from his mind. It was only when meeting Eva does he learn of his crime of deicide and of the penance that had been given to him, which is to retrieve the fractured power of the god and store it within himself in order to resurrect the god he had slain.
Due to his earnest nature, he agrees to travel the world with Eva to atone for his sin against the gods and to regain memories of his past. Although committed to his quest, he is often bothered by the violent and brutally pragmatic decisions he is forced to make. However, it is during these crises of the soul that glimpses of his past self emerge. He was chosen to be the Spirit Vessel not only for his sin of killing a divine, but also because the power of the gods flowed into him even as he was committing the ultimate sin of murder. It is due to this power that Weiss alone is strong enough to retrieve the scattered fragments of the god's powers and resurrect them.
It was during his journey that Weiss first met the archeologist Fastie and learned that the gods still existed on the mortal plane. He also discovered that the sword which had been passed down through his family had the power to not only break the seals that imprisoned the gods, but also to kill them as well. Upon returning to Zaint Luke, he uses the magic weapon -Werdefarht- to slay the god Chaos. However, his hatred of the gods, combined with the severity of his crimes against the divine, proved to be too much to bear and eventually cost him his life.
Weiss is a tall man with an fairly muscular body built, pale skin complexion, scarlet red eyes, and fairly spiky platinum brown hair with one shoulder length lock by the right side of his face. His main attire is a form-fitting white ankle-length,short sleeved trench coat, with light blue lines around the edges, a metal girdle, the center area is separated into a flap, and the back go into a knee-length tail, the collar turned up, parts of the shoulder area are black, and the inside are dark fuchsia. Under the trench coat are a black sleeveless shirt and black forearm length gloves with white fingerless gloves over them, and a thick sword belt for -Werdefarht- and it's sheath. The rest is complete with black trousers, two belt on each of his legs and binding tape as well, white boots, white leg warmers, and white boots.
Weiss was born as an member of the Sera clan, the guardians of the continent of Zaint Luke, along with his sister Leina, the two were to be married to each other as per guardian law. At one point before the events of the first generation, Weiss attended the wedding of a friend of his, he was seen by Felenne, who was also there because her sister was the bride, the two never interacted with each other, but Felenne noted Weiss was kind person. Before the start of the game, Leina fell deathly ill because of the guardian's degrading immune system caused by their inbreeding and died. Overcome with despair, Weiss left the Sera and aimlessly wandered the world, at one point he met a young archeologist name Fastie, who was researching the seals on the pillars. From Fastie, Weiss learned that the sword that the Sera guarded was a magic weapon called the -Werdefahrt-, and that it sealed away Chaos, the God of Darkness, Death, and Rejuvenation. After hearing this, Weiss resolved to go back to Zaint Luke and remove the sword to free Chaos to see if the God could revive Leina; if he can't or won't, Weiss will kill the weakened God with the -Werdefahrt- and end his existence.
The Oathsworn: Werdefahrt: A magical weapon that was protected by the Sera clan, and was key to sealing away Chaos in the prologue. This magical item has the power to slay the Gods or seal them away. Its full power can only be used by those of the Sera clan, but any guardian, or those with guardian blood can wield it.
Sword-hilt Dagger: A one-handed sword-like dagger with the blade possessing a golden sheer, this weapon is a key part of Weiss and his descendants' fighting styles, and they always use it for every one of their Original Skills, and nearly every Finish Strike they are included in. Weiss can use the dagger as a focus for his Sword of Light technique while focusing on using strong and rapid sword slashes on the target.
Felicity Blessing: A memento from Leina, who always wished for Weiss' happiness.
